CLASS 2:
Church Stuff and Everyday Stuff

Everybody knows this stuff, right? Well, yes, but maybe not in the same way.

The Church Stuff is some fun, light reading to get us going. It gets into Sacraments and also describes the overall demeanor of a healthy church and church members.

The Everyday Stuff gets into some meatier subjects, like, law and grace, prayer, evangelism, Trinity, and predestination.

Read these 2 chapters and note any questions or comments.

Remember, the point of all our lightness and of all our meatier thoughts and actions is to be the church together, the Body of Christ for the world.

So, check out the video below to hear Rev. J. Herbert Nelson share his thoughts on being church together.

This is part of a video from the PCUSA's Confirmation curriculum, "Big God, Big Questions." It features Rev. J. Herbert Nelson, the Stated Clerk of the PCUSA. J. Herbert isn't the head of the denomination; he's more like its Chief Executive as we carry out the will of the denomination expressed through churches, presbyteries, synods, and General Assembly. Watch the video, and think about how you would answer the questions at the end.

For more information on J. Herbert and on the work of the Office of the General Assembly, click below, or visit him on the PCUSA's website: http://oga.pcusa.org/section/stated-clerk/stated-clerk/
